It's a coordination complex of zinc. It has fungistatic (that is, it inhibits the division of fungal cells) and bacteriostatic (inhibits bacterial cell division) properties and is used in the treatment of seborrhoeic dermatitis.

Application fields:

ZPT 48% aqueous dispersion can be used as an antidandruff agent in a shampoo or hair dressing to eliminate eumycete which produces dandruff, and result in relieving itching, removing dandruff, diminishing alopecie and deferring achromachia.

Lunacide ZPT 48% is generally stable at the temperatures and PH required for the formulation of shampoos and can be combined with most commonly used shampoo ingredients.

Pyrithione Zinc 98 dried powder can be used in marine paints which is the economical method to prevent ship biofouling by releasing a biocidal compound. Since the ban on tributyltin as an antifouling biocide by the international Marine Organization (IMO), there has been a substantial shift to copper as the active ingredient of choice for antifouling coating. Most recently there been regional efforts to restrict the use of copper for antifouling due to environmental concerns.

The Pyrithione Zinc 98% powder is copper-free and represents the latest generation of active ingredients for antifouling paints for ships and other marine structures. It is about three times more active than copper against marine hard or soft fouling organisms.

DOSAGE:

Antidandruff shampoo:1.0～4.0% depending on customer requirements.

Marine paint: 3.0～10.0% by weight depending on paint formulation of customer. It can be used together with cuprous oxide or cuprous thiocyanate as a perfect formulation in marine paint.
